G.I. JOE UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING THE ‘SOFT MASTER’!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a G.I. Joe character that is way under appreciated in my opinion. Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and the Arashikage clan have had many plots revolving around them. There have been many characters from the clan including Jinx, Nunchuck, and Kamakura. The Blind Master has been part of the live action film, The Hard Master got a modern figure, but one of my favorite characters Soft Master has nothing to show for. There is a bit of story about Soft Master looking for the killer of Hard Master but I would love to see his back story.

I thought when the Snake Eyes movie was announced we would see a back story filled with the training of the Hard and Soft Masters. I thought we would get a glimpse of their back story and mistakes they had made and what led to their untimely deaths. I thought we would get a Hard and Soft Master figure. I think Hasbro missed a golden opportunity not only to create a great movie but also create some figures that wouldn’t warm pegs for a year, then end up at a buyout store for $5.00 a piece. A Hard Master and Soft Master figure would have sold well. A 13 year old Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow figure would have sold. Any hoot I don’t want to make this a negative rant about the movie.

I have a couple figures I have made Soft Master in my little world. I have been trying to figure out how to customize them to look like the comic version. Till I find someone who is good at that I will just have to use my imagination kind of like when I was a kid, and Soft Master is anything I want him to be. Who would love to see Soft Master’s story expanded and get a figure in multiple scales? Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
